Doghouse of Horror V

Description

Done right in time for the Halloween season; my second yearly tradition next to 'Queen of Summer.'
It's the fan-made TUFF spin-off Halloween special 'Doghouse of Horror.'

And already we are at the fifth one!! Wow!! It's amazing how quickly we've gotten to this point. :B
These are more or less done out of passion. It's like the only way I celebrate the Halloween spirit anymore is through my artwork. Halloween is definitely a creative time of year for me. Though slow down this year was due to leadership school. Luckily I got this done in time; and I have a few more pics to release on Halloween as well. ;3

Until then; let's dive into to the new Doghouse of Horor. This is 'Doghouse of Horror V.'

The title card is a movie theater setting. It's Lady Malmsteen sitting down enjoying a soda and someone else's popcorn. The popcorn belongs to Lady M's rival Lupita: The werewolf queen. I dunno why they chose to sit next to each other. My guess is Lady M did it to spite her. Plus she's got Nuby the mummy on her left; someone who is madly in love with Lady M but she couldn't care less about. He's apparently carrying a copy of the film. My bro :iconfox-mccloud: suggested since he's based off Anubis the preserver of the dead he also preserves dead and lost films. Nice little tie in there bro. ;3 Other theater attendees are comprised of Ringu Suzuki on the far left and Le Noire on the far right. Le Noire apparently has a popcorn bucket full of eyeballs. O.o All the other monsters are eating popcorn. I guess it goes to show that even a little girl can be weirder and creepier than they are. ;3
A few other faces sit in the back. The tall and gruesome vampire Christopher Leech sits inbetween the fire haired banshee Jennifer McDullahan and the random snake haired gorgon lady giving her snake hair their fair share of popcorn. Trish Lexia the two headed Frankenstein monster girl is there too. Looks like the good cheerful half is obstructing the view of the less excitable morbid half. Gillbert; an obscure fish man I haven't drawn in a while sits next to her looking rather startled at something on the screen.
Originally this was gonna be Lady Malmsteen sitting amongst the bony remains of movie goers; but it was too depressing and too similar to Homer doing the same thing in 'The Homega Man' from Treehouse of Horror VIII. Yeah I know Doghouse of Horror is pretty much TUFF's version of 'Treehouse of Horror'; but it's like I wish more shows did stuff like that without being a total rip-off.

So let's get down to the stories.

The first one was submitted by :iconbivgalpanandraa:. It's basically a parody of Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds'. He came up with the plot; which is because the avian citizens of Petropolis are upset with Kitty's feline tendencies of hunting birds, The Chief orders Keswick to hypnotize her into suppressing her feline instincts. This catches Bird Brain's attention to which he uses this to his advantage to make all the birds of different variety and size come together by command of his bird whistle and attack the residents of Petropolis. The only one who can stop the birds is Kitty, but she can't do anything because the suppression of her feline instincts has paralyzed her and made her half-crazed with fear. In fact it's getting so out of hand; that BirdBrain took a step further and turned some of the birds into dangerous mutants. Red eyed demon ostriches, mutant chickens, flamethrower spewing penguins (kind of a throwback to Batman Returns); and a giant laser-eyed budgie!! Yeah so unless Kitty is snapped back to her regular self; the world will be overrun with crazy and super powered birds. So that was the story conceived by :iconbivgalpanandraa:. The title I came up with: 'Fowl-Out.' Obviously a pun on the notion of 'Fallout' as well as the video game series. Both deal with post-apocalyptic events; but I bet no one expected birds to bring on the apocalypse. XD At least; we hope it isn't so once Kitty snaps out of it.

the second story I had in my head for a while; but am now releasing it. 'The Dudley-Est Catch'; obviously a reference to the crab-nabbing spectacular 'The Deadliest Catch.' In this story, Dudley thinks he just cornered a deadly villain! Obscured in darkness and shadow he quickly whacks the "criminal" over the head wit ha shovel and brings it back to HQ in a sack. Of course he couldn't see anything in the darkness. So when he gets back to TUFF HQ; it's suddenly revealed that what he actually caught was an unidentified and very VERY ferocious monster. The rest of the story is the TUFF agents trying to contain it while trying to avoid getting eaten by it. Of course the big twist is what Keswick reveals about the monster. I won't say what it is here; but the spoiler is in the picture itself. Keswick even gives you a warning. ;3

And finally, the third story is actually related to current events. I know in one Treehouse of Horror; The Simpsons made 'Citizen Kang' where they lampooned the presidential debates between Bill Clinton and Bob Dole. Well that debate was absolutely nothing compared to the ones we have had this year. This is without a question one of the most bizarre and twisted presidential debates we have ever had in the history of...well...the America most of us knew growing up. (It's not like we can really visualize what presidential debates were like back in the 1800's.) It was not hard at all lampooning the freaky presidential debates of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. So how can you cope with the fact that you are faced with either a foul-mouthed xenophobic hothead or an absolute criminal becoming president? You make a joke about it while at thesame time addressing how f**ked up it is for us. Hence the title of the third story: 'President Evil.' (Obviously a take on the game series 'Resident Evil.') The premise is that two unlikely (and unlikable) candidates are running for president: Verminious Snaptrap and The Chameleon. Neither candidate will be good for the country or the world if they win. But America has no choice but to vote for one. And there's nothing TUFF can do about it either. There's a clause saying they can't get involved in political rallies or functions. (Same with our clause in the military.) However, Dudley feels like they should. Because a visit to a fortune teller reveals to Dudley the drastic consequences of either of these candidates winning. So even though they can't get involved politically; they must be stopped. Well there is a loophole. Dudley could get involved because technically....he SORT OF works for TUFF. They never officially made him a TUFF Agent; they just humored him into thinking he was one. So he sort of works as a civilian...a pseudo-civilian. So technically he could get involved. However; both sides who endorse either Snaptrap and Chameleon are vehement about their candidates regardless because...you know...politics!! Political parties and their loyalists are tough customers. Dudley's only option is to run as a third party candidate. Yes....that is probably his most impossible mission yet. To run as Third Party candidate..and win!!
I know! not very horror themed is it? It's more like a political thriller. (Sort of like The Dead Zone.) Well trust me...there IS a twist to this story.

Well; Happy Halloween everyone. And although the scariest holiday of the year (Election Day) is coming up; I thought a little humor thrown in with colorful visuals will help quell the rising tides of fear and uncertainty we're faced with.

Be safe out there! And enjoy another fright-filled year of tricks and treats. ;3

Wow, this time you surprise me, it's much better than the others horror houses. Liked a lot the 2nd and 3rd, specially the 2nd, its a good idea for a little comic. And when I was young I also created a little joke version of Resident Evil, called President Evil, but your idea is much much better and original!

Nice work partner, keep it up!!! Clap La la la la :D (Big Grin) :happybounce: +fav
