Mimbazu meets Mokele Mbembe by shinragod Mimbazu meets Mokele Mbembe by shinragod
Allow me to introduce you once again to Mimbazu. This time she faces off against a fearsome creature of African legend.

The creature is known as Mokele Mbembe. It's name means 'One who stops the flow of rivers.' It has often been described as a sort of giant long necked creature. More specifically; soem describe it as a dinosaur...a sauropod to be exact.

But just because its a plant eater doesn't mean its friendly. No far from it. The natives who describe 'Mokele Mbembe' say it is fierce and territorial. It is able to kill people who annoy it; and its natural enemy are hippos.

To put it in short; Mokele Mbembe is Africa's 'Loch Ness Monster.' And liek the Loch Ness Monster; it's hard to prove its existence is true. For one thing, a large ass creature could not live i na dense jungle like the Congo; and sauropods are not strictly water dwelling dinosaurs.

So given that; it allowed me to create my own renmdition. It's still a dinosaur; looking very much like a Camarasurus. But I added spines and a menacing look. If I ever change its design I'll makei t more snakelike so it can easily go in throughout the trees.

Again; another CaliFur piece. Mimbazu looks rather shocked seeing the Mkoele Membe rising like that. One patron commented that the creatue looks rather startled by Mimbazu. I can understand that. He is rearing up like he's a little freaked out.

I actually drew it to make it look lioke Mokele Mbembe is about to crush poor Mimbazu. But you know me; I take criticism in with good care.

Onme of my darker if not more frightening pics. Oh how I love drawing those. ;-3

Mimbazu is (c) to me shinragod

I think this would really benefit from a curves adjustment or levels adjustment, so as to reduce the washed out, powdery look it has which is pretty typical of a painting I find. How do you feel about that comment? :) I know some people hate comments like that :) Otherwise compositionally really strong so it gets a +fave from me ^^

TBH I appreciate that comment very much. It beats the regular "good job" or "awesome" comment. I'll definitely take it to heart since I am always willing to improve. Thank you very much. :D

Your version of the Mokele Mbembe actually resembles an Amargasaurus. It was a type of sauropod dinosaur with tall spines rising from its neck - lived in Egypt, I believe.

Anyway, awesome pic! :-)

Wow! that's pretty cool. Mkoele Mbembe is described to closely resemble a sauropod dinosaur or a creature of equivalence.
Thank you. ^^

Very amazing work of art...how did I miss this!?

I know this inst part of the Rachet and Clank universe or what not. But it definatly reminds me of a planet the ILA(Imperial Lombax Army) would try to occupie.
