No Pride In One's Voice by shinragod No Pride In One's Voice by shinragod
My friend :iconverona7881: wrote to a voice actor; and she was pretty much ignored. Her OC Abigail holds the letter to her forehead with a huge grimace of frustration for this insult. Toothpick stands beside her feeling equal frustration and offers his hand on her shoulder.

This is a fear I have with voices behind characters I like. Suppose the actors who voiced them didn't really like their roles at all and seem to intentionally blow off their fans. If you have no pride in the character you do the voice for; why even voice them? why spend time giving them a voice when someone else can do it; for much cheaper I might add.

I understand how you feel Verona. We want the voice actor or actress behind the character we like to get as much into the role as we do so we feel a part of that character is given more life because the actor cares. If not then a bit of the magic is taken away.
I sometimes wonder how Grey DeLisle (voice actress of Kitty Katswell and Carmelita Fox) feels sometimes about her roles. She's a professional and talented lady. Voice acting is her main line of work and she seems to do them really well. I can only hope she enjoys them to give the characters more life.

My point is if you're a professional and well known voice actor/actress...you got to expect fans. You give life to these characters because their voices are crucial to their design and personality. If you don't take pride in it or just don't wanna care or talk about it; give the role to someone who actually does care.

That's my philosophy anyway. I mean yeah; you guys should definitely be paid to lend your voices. Just don't it for the money though. :(

Thank you so much, my dear! You know it ;w; Yeah, srsly! Being ignored is really bad especially if you wrote a big message and got a reply that has NOTHING to do with what you wrote to the voice actor huh. Eeergh! And even by replying it still seems the person dont care :/ I really hope that Grey isnt like this person. Why is every voice actor that do our sweethearts isnt the same as Annette and Alesia! :/ Thank you again! <3 As I wrote before, you really catched me with it ;w;

Of course. :D  I like to help out those I talk to when time is spare. And you helped me out a lot too so like I said; a token of my appreciation. :)

A very short reply and being somewhat unrelated to what you were trying to say: yeah it doesn't sound like he cared a whole lot either. :-/ Again; real sorry he let you down like this. it can be hard.

Maybe female voice actors are nicer because of their fans. After all; what girl doesn't like voicing a pretty popular character? Girl characters really do get a lot of love.
I hope Grey isn't like that either. I hope she isn't as curt.

I'm glad I did. :D I wanted to help you feel better because life is too disappointing to let it get to people.

Don't forget, voice actors are human too.

That's a very good point you've given about this picture you've done, man. If there's one voice actor that I'm starting to like a lot more than I already do, it would have to be Billy West because he's really good at doing the voices of the characters he plays, such as Philip J. Fry in the show "Futurama" (which, needless to say, has officially ended not too long ago). :)

How is Mr. West? A decent guy?
The message from this pic is how the voices behind the characters are IRL.
If they act a little cold then the magic of the character loses some of its appeal.

It's actually kind of hard for me to know what my favorite voice actors are like in real life, but I'm sure Billy West is a pretty decent guy, especially the way he does the voices of the characters in cartoons and video games. I was able to see clips of the game "Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havok" on YouTube not too long ago, and I remember being able to play it on the Gamecube just to hear him doing the voice of Murfy The Fly Guy (even though he only appears in the game's intro level). :)

Yeah, voice acting IS a tough calling, ain't it?

For the most part.
You have to wonder how Grey feels about her Kitty role sometimes.

I think she has mixed feelings about it.

She believes Kitty's probably her favorite character thus far, but sometimes, I bet even SHE wonders why Kitty's part of the show.

Who knows?

That's actually odd, voice acting like many other things require talent and a certain ability to be the character and a lot of love for it. Is a bummer if someone gets ignored but sometimes the odds are not perfect and we must remember that voice actors are also artists so maybe your friend caught the actress in "one of those moments all artists go through" and just forgot about the letter. I say that she tries it again.

Great draw as a cheer-her-up:D
