This Partnership Won't Last

Oh yeah...from day 1 working together....these two lovely ladies instantly disliked each other.
I just realized....I'm submitting this on 'International Women's Day. Nothing says appreciation for women than showing them being angry as hell at each other. XD

In all seriousness; Neyla was one of the reasons I really liked Sly 2. Although she is long gone; I still think she made an impression in many ways.
And yet I can tell from the beginning of the game; neither her or Carmelita enjoyed each other's company.

So here is their first initial meeting; with Carmelita's own Chief Barkely accompanying her and Neyla's own Contessa right beside her as well. Looks like they're joining forces as it was established in the game. So c'mon ladies...shake hands and celebrate your new partnership. Make your supers feel proud.
Sure...that's what the first panel makes you think.
But it doesn't take long until the second panel shows what they really feel for each other; utter contempt.

I'm guessing Carmie's dislike of Neyla started off as Neyla being The Contessa's favorite; and pretty much scamming her way to the top; while Carmelita worked hard to get where she was.
Neyla I think was jealous of Carmelita's standing at Interpol as well as how she had a guy like Sly.
Of course the real reason Neyla was going to betray her in the end was to obtain immortality by taking possession of a large robotic owl.
Yeah...it's just like my pappy always said: "Never trust dem purple people!!"

First time drawing Chief Barkley. I forget; does Carmelita still work for this fuzzy little ball of rage? And this was also me drawing The Contessa for after a long time. She is such an awesome design.
I'm glad I'm drawing Carmelita and Neyla again. Because as dastardly as Neyla was; I like to imagine these two bickering with each other. Some great comedy could ensue from it. XD Well, if Neyla and Carmelita ever had to team up again against their wills (fat chance); I imagine it would be tense but somehow this would lead into seriously hilarious situations when these two have to work together.
Yeah I plan on bringing Neyla back; but her return is essential to the plot. I can't just bring her back for no real apparent reason.
